Kickin’ It for the Kids 2016 Raised Over $50,000
Red Shoe Society Wichita hosted its 4th annual major fundraiser, the Kickin’ it for the Kids kickball tournament on September 17th at the South Lakes Softball Complex located at 5300 S Meridian Ave Wichita, KS 67217.
Increasing in size from the previous year, this year’s tournament featured 32 teams with over 400 participants and volunteers. Teams were encouraged to have a theme, dress-up, and really get into the spirit of helping others. Family and friends were also welcome to dress up and cheer for their favorite team.
“It is so much fun to see that this event has grown so fast in just three years. We are overwhelmed and thankful for the amount of support and participation we have seen from the community and young professionals, “ said Susan Smythe, CEO/Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita. “It is only through the help of the community that we can provide the support families need in their time of crisis.”
Players also used online fundraising tools and surpassed their $10,000 goal with $19,232. With the help of all the players and sponsors, over $50,000 was raised for families at RMHC Wichita.
In just one day, enough money was raised to house a family for 625 days at the Ronald McDonald House!
Thank you to everyone who participated in making the 2016 Kickin’ It for the Kids Kickball Tournament the biggest and best. Hope to see everyone next year.
