The Stritt Family
The journey of parenthood is never easy, but for one family from Cimarron, KS, it was a road filled with challenges, resilience, and the unwavering support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita (RMHC Wichita).
Their story began when they welcomed their
triplet daughters at just 30 weeks. Living in a
rural area, they had no option to deliver close to
home, so they turned to Wichita for medical
care. When the babies arrived, they required
specialized care in the NICU, where they spent
21, 24, and 27 days fighting to grow stronger.

With their daughters in the NICU, the challenges were immense. RMHC Wichita became their sanctuary, providing them a place to stay, access to meals, and most importantly, the ability to remain close to their newborns. The babies thrived by feeding better and gaining strength with the parents at their bedside.
Just as they were preparing to bring their
daughters home for good, their older son was involved in a car accident, suffering a fractured spine. He was airlifted to Wichita where they now had to balance the care of their recovering baby girls and their injured son. After the son was released they fi-
nally found themselves able to go home as a family.
Due to living in an area with limited pediatric resources, the Stritt family has been back to the Ronald McDonald House multiple times since their initial stay. When dealing with fragile preemies a minor illness could turn into an emergency. Each time, the Ronald McDonald House was there, ready
with a room, meals, and a comforting environment.
“Seeing a smiling face, knowing someone was
always there to help, and never having to worry
about the basics made an overwhelming situation
just a bit easier to bear,” said Ashley, the mother of
five.
Today, their family is doing well. Their daughters are
growing strong, their son’s spine is healing, and
after a tumultuous year, they are finally finding sta-
bility.
