About Your Room

Key Cards

A lost or damaged keycard is $10. Keycards must be returned to the front desk if a registered guest leaves the House for a night for any reason. If you have a patient at Wesley Children’s Hospital, a separate key card will be issued to you for use of the Wesley Walkway.

Free wifi is available to you. Wifi username and password information is located in the common areas throughout the house and at the front desk.

Are from 9:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Please be respectful and considerate of others.

Linens & Towels

It is recommended guests change linens at least once a week or if stained / soiled. Clean linens and towels are located in the second floor east hallway cabinets and also in the first floor linen room.

Toiletries are located in the linen closet on the first floor and the second floor linen cabinets.

Thermostats

Each bedroom has an adjustable thermostat for your comfort. Please note that the temperature range for the House is limited from 68 to 74 degrees. Contact a House Manager if there are any issues with the temperature in your room.

Please immediately report any needed repairs or maintenance issues to the House Manager.

Your Smart TV

Your Smart TV has apps like Netflix and Hulu that you can sign in using your personal account. Check out a Smart TV remote from the front desk.

Incoming Fax Number (Front Desk): 316.260.4350. If you expect to receive or need to send a fax, please contact a House Manager.

Mail

Mail is picked up and delivered daily. Any outgoing mail can be brought to the House Manager's Office. If you receive personal mail during your stay, it will be kept in the House Manager’s Office at the Front Desk.

Breast Pump-01

Breast Pumps

Wesley Medical Center leases breast pump machines to new mothers. However, RMHC Wichita has breast pumps available on loan as well. Please see a House Manager if you would like to check out a breast pump.

Mini Frdge-01

Mini-Fridges

Mini-Fridges are available for checkout. These fridges are used for temporary breast milk storage and refrigerated medications only. Please do not put breast milk or medication in any Family or House refrigerator or freezer.

Trash-01

Trash

Each guest is responsible for emptying their own trash bin on a daily basis. Trash bag liners and a large trash can are available in the Linen Room on the first floor and Laundry Room on the second floor for your convenience. All dirty diapers must be put in a plastic bag and securely tied before disposal.

About the House

Kitchen-01

Kitchen & Dining

The Dining Area, Beverage Center, and Pantry are open to all guest’s, but the House Kitchen may only be used by trained volunteers and House Managers. Guest families are to use the microwave, sink, and trash receptacles in the Beverage Center. In addition, the Pantry is stocked with grab and go snacks for all guest’s to enjoy. It is the guest’s responsibility to clean up after themselves. Wipe down the counters, table, and chairs with disinfectant spray and sweep the floor if needed.

Refrigerators

The two refrigerators in the pantry are designated for guest families. One fridge bin may be checked out to store personal food items. Guests are responsible for disposing their expired foods during and at the end of their stay. Breast milk and medications can NOT be stored in any refrigerator.

Kitchen-01

Kitchenette
(Second Floor)

The refrigerator and cabinets in the kitchenette are for general use. If you place personal items in the refrigerator or cabinets, please identify the items with a provided family food label. Unlabeled items will be thrown away. When eating in the kitchenette, please keep all food and drink on the island. No food or drinks are allowed in the living areas. It is the guest's responsibility to clean up after themselves. Wipe down the counters and chairs, and sweep the floor if needed.

Pantry Cabinets

A locking cabinet for storing non-perishable items is available to each family. Please let a House Manager know you would like to use a cabinet and staff will show you how to program the lock.

Laundry

Laundry rooms are available 24 hours a day and located on both floors . Donated laundry supplies are located in the laundry room cabinets. When doing laundry, please place your laminated room number on top of the appliance. It is your responsibility to clean up after yourself after laundry room usage.

Proper Attire

Proper daytime attire is required in all common areas of the House. Shoes or slippers must be worn when outside of your room.

A computer and printer are located on the second floor common area for your convenience.

Common Areas

Please be respectful in the shared spaces of the House and considerate of others. No sleeping is allowed in these areas. Please do not put your shoes on the furniture. No food or drink is allowed outside of the the dining area and Kitchenette.

Visitors

Visitors are not aloud in the Ronald McDonald House. The first floor lobby of the Wesley Medical Plaza is available during regular office hours.

Family Services Information

Front Desk

A House Manager is on duty from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Using the phone in your room, you can call 122 or press the “Front Desk” button at any time and staff, a trained volunteer, or night security will assist you.

Emergency

Call 911. Fire evacuation instructions are located on the back of your room door. For tornado warnings, move away from windows. Safe areas are: Suite / Public Bathrooms, Linen Rooms, Janitorial Rooms, and Stairwells. If time allows, a House Manager will communicate an additional shelter option.

FA-01

First Aid

RMHC Wichita staff and volunteers are not trained or expected to handle complications of medical therapy. They are not allowed to offer or administer any first aid or medications. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

Security

The Ronald McDonald House’s Security Staff is on duty in the House from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. There are security cameras located throughout the public areas of the House. Wesley Medical Center’s Security Department monitors the building, inside and out, as well as the parking areas 24/7.

Smoke-01

No Smoking

Smoking, vaping, or any kind of tobacco/nicotine use is not allowed on the premises. The RMHC Wichita House and all Wesley Medical facilities are non-smoking. This includes the parking lot, parking garage, and all outdoor areas on the properties. Please use the public sidewalk when smoking.

Check Out

Check-out time is 12:00 p.m. Please let a House Manager know in advance if you are checking out. Guest’s are responsible for thoroughly cleaning the bedroom and bathroom before checking out. A detailed check out form can be obtained from the button below.

Cleaning

It is your responsibility to keep your bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy. Cleaning supplies are located in the tall cabinet in the laundry room on each floor.

The cleaning supplies will include:

- Glass cleaner
- Multi-purpose cleaner
- Toilet brush and brush refills

- Small trash bin liners
- 1 flat mop for dry/wet floor cleaning
- 1 small broom and dust pan

Clean microfiber cloths are located in the first floor linen closet.

* Please return dirty microfiber cloths to the appropriately labeled bucket.

Cleaning Notices:
Once a week, our housekeeping staff will clean your bathroom and the bedroom floor.

Linens: It is recommended guest’s change linens
at least once a week. Dirty linens (pillow cases, fitted
sheet, flat sheet, thermal blanket, and towels) can be
put in the yellow linen bags and brought down to the
first floor linen closet and placed in the tall used
linen bin.

Clean linens are located in the second floor east
hallway cabinets and also in the first floor linen room.

Bedspreads & Teal Bed Scarves: It is requested
guest’s change bedspreads as soon as possible
if stained or soiled. Dirty bedspreads and bed scarves
can be placed in the small linen bin located in the
linen room on the first floor. Clean bedspreads are
located in the first floor linen room.

Parking

Free Parking is available in the parking lot and parking garage north of our building. There is a 15 minute drop-off/pick-up area at the front entrance of our building as well.

The double glass sliding doors at the front entrance of the building are locked from 5:30 pm to 5:30 am during weekdays and remain locked on the weekends. A card reader is located on the right side frame of the doors. Your keycard will open the outside doors any time of the day. In addition, there is a doorbell to the left.

Wesley Walkway

The walkway is available 24/7 and can be accessed with your Wesley Medical Center keycard. Take the elevator to the third floor of the building and the walkway will be directly in front of you.

Please visit www.wichitatransit.org for transit and route information. Bus passes are available for purchase at any Dillons grocery store in Wichita.
